Attendance:
Regular attendance is essential for student progress and to ensure the full benefits of music education. Students are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled lessons. Although we attempt to keep the student/teacher pairing consistent over time, realistically this is not always possible. When it can’t be avoided there may be teacher changes throughout the course of the year, especially during semester or student/teacher schedule changes.

* Missed or cancelled appointments will not result in automatic makeups, refunds or credits. 

Scheduling:
Lessons are scheduled in advance and are a recurring weekly commitment. Please ensure that you choose a time slot where regular attendance is possible.

Cancellation:

  • Student Cancellation: If you are unable to attend a lesson your teacher will prepare a brief assignment and video for that week. This will be sent to you on the day of the miss so you won’t miss a beat!

  • Teacher Cancellation: In the rare event that the teacher must cancel a lesson, students will be notified as soon as possible, and the lesson will be rescheduled or a qualified substitute will be assigned.

No-Show Policy:

Failure to attend a lesson without notification (no-show) will result in the lesson being marked as “unexcused” and will not be eligible for a make-up lesson.

 

Make-Up Lessons:
You are able to carry/bank up to 2 makeup or reschedule requests. These do not expire as long as your membership is current and on-going. Missed makeup or rescheduled lessons do not qualify for a further makeup.

  • Excused Absences: If a lesson is cancelled with proper notice or deemed an excused absence by the teacher, a make-up lesson credit will be offered based on availability and are not eligible for a refund.

  • Unexcused Absences: Lessons missed without proper notification will not be made up or refunded.

Late Arrivals: Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended and will end at the scheduled time.

Payment Policy: The first month’s tuition is pro-rated to the number of lessons given during that month. Lesson tuition is due at the beginning of each month and is based on 52 weeks of lessons during the year, regardless of the number of weeks in the month or whether a holiday week falls during the month.

$35/wk * 52 weeks / 12 months = $152/mo (plus $5 for book and lesson materials) = $157.00/mo * discounts for multiple student families or 1 hr weekly lessons. Contact us for more info.

Makeup credits will be issued for the following holiday weeks:

  • New Years (Jan 1-7)

  • Spring Break Week

  • 4th of July Day

  • Thanksgiving Week

  • Christmas Week

Termination of Lessons: If you wish to discontinue lessons the following month, please provide a notice by the 15th of the month prior by using this form. This allows the studio to fill the time slot and provides closure for the student-teacher relationship.
