How We Choose Our Teachers

Our instructors are selected for more than musical ability. We look for teachers who are skilled, reliable, encouraging, and able to connect with students at different ages and experience levels.

“Our instructors are carefully screened, professionally trained and highly skilled. Their personality and character are as important to me as their musical expertise. I’m very picky when it comes to selecting instructors.”

“I founded MusicLessons1on1 out of a desire to do something meaningful and significant. I have found that by impacting and encouraging and inspiring new musicians, I was coaching people that would go on to impact and encourage and create even more musicians, who would then, in turn, do the same for others. This process continues into infinity, ultimately impacting people over and over again over the course of many lifetimes. I believe all teachers share in this kind of legacy, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help students grow through music. Over the past two decades, Music Lessons 1on1 has worked with thousands of students in the Bryan–College Station area.”

“Howdy! I’m Alejandra, a student at Texas A&M studying Electronic Systems Engineering Technology! I grew up in a family of musicians who encouraged me to keep learning. That led me to acoustic guitar in high school. I’ve also played electric guitar for several years in different bands. My love for music started when I was young and has inspired me to learn several instruments throughout my life. Much of that came from the amazing teachers I had growing up. My goal is to instill the same love for music in my students!”

“Music does not discriminate against age or one’s own perception of musical ability. You’re never too old or young to learn an instrument or sing. EVERYONE has musical potential, many simply need a good teacher to help them connect with this potential.”
— A very wise man
